Requirements for MS2s related to N95 fit testing

Attention E23 students and students entering clerkships in Spring Quarter 2025: All MS2 students must complete the UW School of Medicine’s respiratory barrier protection program, including online training, medical clearance, and respirator fit testing to ensure student and patient safety in clinical settings, including those associated with clerkships, clinical electives, service-learning opportunities, etc.

To fulfill all requirements, it’s vital you view and act on what’s on this page about fit testing.

Update about the ISA Survey

Here is a message from ISA Committee Co-Leads Nicholas Popp (MS4), Sarah Busch (MS4), Ben Henderson (MS3), Matt Lumsden (MS2) and Lila Faulhaber (MS2):

We thank so many of you for completing the student-led Independent Student Analysis (ISA) survey, which helped raise the response rate from 56% to 71%!  You are 9 percentage points away from reaching the target goal of 80%. As you see in the graph below, 100% of Wyoming students completed the survey, followed by Montana (87%), Spokane (85%), Idaho (75%), and Seattle (48%). Many Seattle students completed the survey in class Tuesday, and we look forward to updating their response rate next week.

The survey is scheduled to close on October 30; we welcome your ongoing completion of the survey. The link can be found in your inbox from eqi@uw.edu with the subject line “[Reminder] We need you to complete the ISA survey!”

The EQI office will be drawing gift cards as soon as the survey closes (Please see the card distribution by regional affiliation in the table below).

Thank you so much for your help!

Peer to Peer: Tip of the Month from Career Advising

This month, we want to share an opportunity for career exploration and mentorship! Join the Student-Alumni Informational Discussions (SAID) run by UWSOM’s Alumni Association to connect with alumni and a small group of fellow students over Zoom or in person. There’s a range of specialties and career topics to choose from. SAID gatherings are often noted as a highlight for students during Foundations. Our alums are pretty awesome!
