House Bill 2327 and UW Sexual Misconduct Declaration Requirements

On June 11, 2020, the Washington State Legislature passed House Bill 2327, addressing sexual misconduct at post secondary educational institutions,
preventing employees with a history of undisclosed sexual misconduct, to move between institutions. This bill includes a number of requirements that
the University of Washington must phase-in over the next three years.

Effective October 1, 2020, the University of Washington is required to ask final candidates to sign a statement and disclose information regarding
current or past sexual misconduct investigations and/or findings. The University of Washington cannot hire an external applicant who has not signed
the statement for any academic personnel positions.
