Overview of the Service Learning Advisory Committee
The Service Learning Advisory Committee is the governing body that is responsible for approving service learning and advocacy projects so they are considered official programs of the University of Washington. The group supports students in creating and developing innovative and sustainable service learning and advocacy projects, which are rooted in core principles of equity, partnership, and mutual benefit. Additionally, the SLAC ensures that all participants have appropriate liability coverage and adequate training / licensing to carry out responsibilities associated with service learning projects.
