Please sign up by Sunday for mock interviews Monday for surgical specialties

Are you applying into a surgical specialty? The UWSOM Chapter of Association of Women Surgeons will be hosting a mock interview night over Zoom on Monday, Nov. 18, starting at 6 p.m. AK, 7 p.m. PT, 8 p.m. MT for all fourth-year students who are currently in the process of applying into surgical specialties. The event will include one to two 15-minute practice interviews with feedback, followed by some group time for questions and overall advice. This will be a great opportunity to practice interviewing with a surgical resident who has recently gone through the process.

Please sign up using this link on Sunday, Nov. 17, by 2 p.m. AK, 3 p.m. PT, 4 p.m. MT. Feel free to reach out to Sasha Smerekanych at sashsmer@uw.edu with any questions.

Request for students applying to Internal Medicine residency

Members of the UW Department of Medicine are surveying fourth-year medical students who are applying to Internal Medicine residency regarding their perceptions of morning report. Specifically, they are interested in learning about how your experiences in morning report may have contributed to your identity formation as an internist.

They will be conducting 30-45 minute confidential interviews via Zoom to talk about your experiences. If you are interested in participating, please email Internal Medicine Resident Rujuta Patil, MD, at rpatil2@uw.edu.

Permission for this study has been obtained from your clerkship director and the UW School of Medicine. Your participation is voluntary. By participating in this interview, you are consenting to this study. There is no compensation for participation. This data is anonymous and will not be shared with your clerkship director or the University of Washington School of Medicine and will not be used in any supervisor or program evaluation.

If you have any questions regarding the study, please reach out to Dr. Patil at  rpatil2@uw.edu.
