ICYMI: UWSOM Dept of Radiation Oncology hosts open house about residencies
You are invited to a virtual and relaxed meet and greet on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, where you can get to know faculty and residents from the Radiation Oncology Residency Program at UWSOM. It’s completely optional and has no impact on the residency selection process. The program starts at 3 p.m. AK, 4 p.m. PT and 6 p.m. MT.
Program Director Lia Halasz, MD, will kick things off with a brief welcome and overview. After that, the meeting will transition into engaging breakout rooms that cater to your interests. Feel free to hop in and out of different discussions throughout the event – it’s all about what intrigues you.

Peer to Peer: Road to Residency Tip of the Month
You’re about a year out from your residency application submission!
Are you wondering what specialty you’ll end up in? Most students are in the same boat, not yet knowing what field they want to go in to. You have time to decide. Take the AAMC Careers in Medicine Self-Assessments and schedule an October or November meeting with your career advisor. Be sure to select the appointment type MS3 4th Year Planning (25 min) here: https://uwsom-careeradv.12twenty.com/SignUp/Student.
Are you starting to think about a certain specialty? Think about what you can be doing this year to enhance your application. This can depend on your specialty, so talk with your career advisor or specialty advisor to see if this means research, volunteering or leadership.
