Webinar available about new scheduling tool

Students wishing to add or drop electives have a new method for doing so that was described in last week’s newsletter. A webinar was held to explain the new process, and you can access it here.


AOA Honor Medical Society Fall senior election: Application and Aug. 18 deadlines

The UW chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society Fall ‘senior’ election will be held in early September. AOA is the national medical honor society.  Membership signifies a lifelong commitment to professionalism, leadership, scholarship, research, and community service. There are 123 chapters around the country, and each year, approximately 3,000 students, alumni, residents, and faculty are elected into the society. You can learn more about the organization on the national AOA website or on the UW Chapter of AOA website.

Election action items:

NO late submissions will be accepted. A final reminder will be included in the Aug. 15 student newsletter.


Spring Survey response rate rises to 53% – goal is 90%

From Sara Kim, PhD, research professor, surgery, and associate dean for Educational Quality Improvement (EQI): Thank you to everyone who helped raise the survey response rate from 50% to 53%!

Thank you to Alaska (45%) for raising the response rate by 5 percentage points. The current response rates are as follows: Montana (82%, up 4), Idaho (62%, no change), Spokane (57%, up 2), Wyoming (47%, no change), and Seattle (42%, up 3).

The email link was sent last Tuesday, July 30, 2024, to those who haven’t completed the survey yet. Your survey input matters for the school’s accreditation and ongoing continuous quality improvement. We thank you for 10 mins of your time.

Please see below the incentive breakdown by campus in the table below. You can choose to use your gift card with different vendors such as Amazon, Apple, Uber Eats, and many other stores, restaurants and movie theatres!
