The following email was sent to students on July 22, 2024, with attachments:

Step-by-step schedule change student instructions

Student Instructions eValue Manage Schedule Requests

Target Audience: ·                MS4 students wishing to add/drop required clerkships, APCs, Sub-Is, or electives (including visiting electives).

·                MS3 students wishing to add/drop electives.

Action Required: Review resources detailing new schedule change process
Deadline: Prior to requesting a schedule change on and after August 14th
Non-Compliance: You will not have the correct information to make schedule changes
Summary: Starting August 14th, MS4 students will use the new Manage Schedule Requests tool in eValue to request schedule changes. MS3 students will also use this process to add/drop electives (not required clerkships). Students will no longer request schedule changes through the online Microsoft Schedule Change Request form.

Please review the attached resources detailing the new schedule change process before making a schedule change request.

What Remains the Same: ·                Permission-only clerkships can only be added after permission has been provided by the clerkship administrator.

·                If a clerkship is less than 6-weeks away, official permission to add/drop will need to be provided by the clerkship administrator. Consult the cheat sheet. Requests submitted after noon (12 PM) Pacific on the Friday before the Monday six week start date will not be processed, and you will be asked to obtain permission to add/drop.

·                For the required Emergency Medicine or Neurology clerkships: Requests to add must be accompanied by a drop of the current required clerkship. Requests to drop must be accompanied by an add of a new required clerkship.

·                Requests are processed on a first come, first served basis.

·                Changes to Patient Care required clerkships are only possible for extenuating circumstances outside your control with approval from the Assistant Dean for Student Development.

Important Dates: Monday, July 29th, 5:30-6:30 PM Pacific: Join us for a webinar reviewing the new tool, including a live demonstration.
