Have your CV reviewed and edited by Career Advising as part of a CV group session. Click this link to register – space is limited. In advance of the session, a career advisor will review your CV and provide personalized feedback after the session. During the group session, advisors will address common themes for improvement and answer your questions. Career advisors encourage all Foundation students to have a completed CV by the time they start the Patient Care Phase.
All half-hour sessions are virtual and start at 11 a.m. AK, noon PT, 1 p.m. MT. The sessions are open to all students. Instructions for how to prepare are given at the time of registration. Register now.

Road to Residency Tip of the Month from the Career Advising Student Advisory Board
For many of you, rotations have started. As you’re going through these rotations, it’s helpful to look at the daily work you’re doing, reflect and take notes on what you like and don’t like about the experience. Your future you will be grateful for those notes.
The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Careers in Medicine Clinical Rotation Evaluation provides a format for you to record your thoughts and opinions. Ask questions such as:
- Do you love the operating room and working with your hands?
- Do you enjoy getting to sit down with patients for conversations?
- How important is continuity of care to you?
- Do you like high adrenaline situations?
- Do you prefer working in a hospital or a clinic?
Answering these big-picture questions can help you narrow down specialty options to explore further! Pay attention to which clerkship(s) keep you interested and inspired, even when the work is tough and you are tired.
