Career Advising Office Hours update

Career Advising Office Hours next week, Sept. 11 to 14, are dedicated to MS4’s residency application questions. If you have a time-sensitive question during this week: Please email medadv@uw.edu instead of coming to Office Hours. A career advisor will get back to you as soon as they can. Thank you for supporting our MS4s!

Meanwhile, until Oct. 3, the career advisors are very busy in 1-1 meetings with MS4s and prepping for fall advising. Career advisors are not able to meet with other students during this time. If you have an urgent question or issue, please email medadv@uw.edu and a career advisor will try to get back to you within five days. You are welcome to bring quick questions to Office Hours, but if your question can wait until after Oct. 3, that would help free up time for MS4s and the career advisors. The team thanks you for your patience and understanding.

Tip of the Month” from the Career Advising Student Advisory Board

Welcome back! Mind, Brain and Behavior (MBB) is a rigorous block, so make sure this is your main focus. In the background, especially if you didn’t have time over the summer, try to sprinkle in some Step 1 prep this fall. A good option is to get through as much Sketchy pharm and micro with Anki as you can.

I (Shanelle Briggs) know Step 1 is pass/fail, but as someone who just took Step 2, I can say that a lot carries over and you’ll thank yourself for taking Step 1, seriously 😊. Knowing Sketchy will also set you up for success on rotations, as you’ll get asked these questions in person and on the shelf exams!
