ICYMI: Nominate attendings or residents for Excellence in Teaching by TOMORROW, Friday, Feb. 24
The Medicine Student Programs need your help to identify and nominate attendings and residents from WWAMI for our Excellence in Teaching awards. If you have not done so already, please use this link to nominate the attendings and residents who you feel have demonstrated excellence in teaching during your medicine rotations.
Career Advising Student Advisory Board – Tip of the Month
You’re almost done with the Patient Care Phase! Ideally, you have narrowed down your career choices to one to two specialties with a secondary specialty until fourth year – if one of the specialties is not family medicine (FM), pediatrics (Peds), or internal medicine (IM). Meet with your specialty career advisor to review your initial competitiveness, MS4 electives, and, for a few specialties, away rotation planning, including strategies and programs that might be a good fit for you. If you want to do an away rotation, get your CV updated, ask for a letter of recommendation, and have an idea of which programs you want to apply to. Try to start working on your Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO) application now and not during Step 2 Dedicated so you don’t have to take time away from board studying!
