Update about the spring student survey
Here is a message from Sara Kim, PhD, research professor, surgery, and associate dean for Educational Quality Improvement: We are only two weeks in, and you raised the Spring survey response rate from 47 percent to 53 percent! Thank you to those who took the time to complete the survey!
Here is a round of accolades: Idaho had the largest increase of the week with the response rate reaching 53 percent, up 13 percentage points), followed by Seattle (40 percent, up 6), Montana (32 percent, up 6), and Alaska (16 percent, up 4). The Wyoming (90 percent) and Spokane (87 percent) campus rates have remained the same after exceeding the school’s goal last week.

Peer to Peer: Tip of the Month from Career Advising
If you’re leaning toward a specialty (or a couple of them) and have already met with Career Advising, find a time to meet with your specialty career advisor (SCA). You can follow the guidance provided in the Specialty Guides you can find on this resources page.
Many of you won’t need to connect with them until after starting your clinical phase. For other students, it can be great to get on the SCA’s radar early; make sure you read the Specialty Guide first and bring specific questions. Use the Guidelines for Connecting with SCA website to prepare for your meeting. Be ready to share your summer plans with them and ask if they have suggestions, such as presenting your summer project at a specific conference, extra shadowing, volunteering, etc.
