This is a friendly reminder that you can schedule your Intro to Career Planning appointment anytime through May. If you are interested in any of the very competitive specialties listed in the career planning timeline, please meet with your career advisor sooner rather than later. Email your career advisor if you can’t find a time that works for your schedule.
Plan about an hour for prep steps before your meeting:

- Watch the 3 short videos: Approaching Career Planning & Extracurriculars
- Complete these two AAMC Careers in Medicine self-assessments:
- Review website content
- Read the Specialty Guide for two specialties that you are interested in
- Read Choosing A Career –includingExplore Your Career and Career Planning Timeline
ICYMI: Schedule now to have your Curriculum Vitae (CV) reviewed by Career Advising
Have your CV reviewed and edited by Career Advising as part of a CV group session. Click this link to register – space is limited. In advance of the session, a career advisor will review your CV and provide personalized feedback after the session. During the group session, advisors will address common themes for improvement and answer your questions. Career advisors encourage all Foundation students to have a completed CV by the time they start the Patient Care Phase. The advisors encourage all MS3s to begin working on this document now in preparation for residency applications this fall. All half-hour sessions are virtual and start at 11 a.m. AK, noon PT, 1 p.m. MT. The sessions are open to all students. Instructions for how to prepare are given at the time of registration. Register now.

If you already have the results, discuss them with your career advisor and College mentor. Let your results help guide your summer research, online career exploration, informational interviews, shadowing, etc. Don’t forget to meet with your career advisor if you haven’t already.
