Career Advising Student Advisory Board Tip of the Month
This advice is for all MS2 students and includes first generation and BIPOC student lenses.
Congratulations! You’re almost done with the classroom portion of medical school! During this last bit of pre-clinicals, continue participating in interest group events, volunteering, and other extracurriculars. If you haven’t gotten to shadow or explore more about some of your interested specialties, there are many people you can reach out to, including your college mentor or other faculty. Do so by the end of this fall quarter for potential opportunities. You can also check out these videos to learn more! Of course, prioritize your blocks, and don’t spread yourself too thin. Now is also a great time to brainstorm a study plan for STEP 1. Don’t wait for your dedicated time! Your learning specialist is a great resource to get started.
