Wyoming WWAMI students meet with Wyoming Hospital Association leadership teams

Wyoming WWAMI students recently joined the Wyoming Hospital Association (WHA) Awards Dinner to engage in meaningful discussions with hospital leadership teams about workforce needs in Wyoming and to explore opportunities to return to Wyoming for medical practice after completing their medical training. The WHA Annual Meeting in Laramie was an excellent opportunity for WWAMI students to connect with hospital administrators from their hometowns to discuss healthcare in their local communities.

These face-to-face interactions are vital in helping address the physician shortage in rural and underserved communities across the state, while also strengthening students’ ties to their local healthcare systems and encouraging them to build their careers in Wyoming. The Wyoming WWAMI program continues to emphasize community-based medical education and workforce development, ensuring these future physicians are well-prepared and motivated to serve their home state.
