SOM Large Group Room Scheduling FAQs

Generally, we try to complete requests within 2 business days of receiving your request.

Once we receive your email, we will try to find an open room. If there is no availability, we will suggest alternatives.

After an open room is identified, we will reply and attach a PDF to your email to confirm the room reservation.

No. Unfortunately, SOM Rooms can only reserve these rooms directly during our blockout times. Our team must submit requests outside of these blockout times to Classroom Services.

Classroom changes can be requested when Time Schedule Update opens. These dates are listed in the Time Schedule Production Calendar for each quarter.

If you would like to change rooms for a MEDSCI course, please email somrooms@uw.edu with the details of your request. We will submit it to Health Sciences Classroom Services.

Change requests are subject to availability. Higher priority is given if the assigned room does not facilitate the course content (e.g., a lecture hall was assigned, but students will be practicing clinical skills).

No. Classroom Services does not make reservation changes without a direct request or approval from a departmental coordinator.

For MEDSCI or NCE room changes, please email somrooms@uw.edu instead.

If the room is locked, inaccessible, or damaged, you can call Classroom Services at (206) 543-6729. Their office is open 8 AM-5 PM on weekdays.
