Education Program Policies FAQs

Use the search box above the policy table to enter keywords related to the policy you’re looking for.

Policies are categorized into sections such as Institutional Environment, General Policies and Standards, and Admissions in the very left column. You can see when it was last reviewed and the governing bodies for the policy.

Policies will be reviewed every four years or less by authorized individuals and governing bodies according to the policy on policies.

We recommend consulting your feedback with co-chairs of Medical Education Policy & Procedures committees via eqi@uw.edu. If you would like to share your feedback and suggestions regarding a policy directly, please contact the policy contact at the bottom of the policy page.

Policy: Considered a level below laws, policies set forth expectations that students are required to adhere to. These are subject to state action law.

Procedure: Procedures delineate the methods to implement a policy.

Guidelines: Positioned as an aid, example, or resource rather than a mandatory requirement, guidelines offer suggestive instructions or recommendations to help follow policies and procedures.
