Connect With Your Classmates During Clinical Rotations!

To help those beginning their clerkships stay connected, your fellow students have put together a helpful spreadsheet.

If you’d like to have your information included, please fill out the rotation form and view the WWAMI-wide spreadsheet to connect with others at your site or in your city. Once you submit, you will be redirected to the final Excel sheet with all the results of the form. Please do not edit the spreadsheet itself, as it should be read-only. Feel free to use Command + F to search for your site. If you need to update your information, please click the original form link and it will automatically pull up your prior submission to edit. Please reach out to Camille Massaad (cmassaad@uw.edu) with any questions!

Fill out the form here.

View the spreadsheet with peers’ rotations here.

Career Advising Student Advisory Board Tip of the Month

This advice is for all MS2 students and includes first generation and BIPOC student lenses.

For many of you, clerkships have started. As you’re going through these rotations, keep a journal to reflect on your day-to-day activities, noting what you like and don’t like about each experience. Your future self will be grateful for those notes!

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Careers in Medicine Clinical Rotation Evaluation provides a format for you to record your thoughts and opinions. Ask yourself questions such as how you like to work, what working environments are best for you, what populations are of most interest, etc.

Answering these big-picture questions can help you narrow down specialty options to explore further! Pay attention to which clerkship(s) keep you interested and inspired, even when the work is tough and you are tired.

In March, your Career Advisor sent you an email about three short career advising videos on Specialty Exploration & Residency Planning During Patient Care Phase (PCP). If you missed watching them, take a moment to view them now: Video 1 (16 minutes), Video 2 (7 minutes) and Video 3 (5 minutes).
