Consider attending the optional Career Advising integrations session on 6/24 at 1–2 pm PT to get a preview of the 4th-year career planning timeline. This session will give you resources to understand the essential components of a residency application, how to evaluate competitiveness for specific specialties, and risk-mitigation strategies. Join us on Zoom (passcode 303030)! The session will be recorded and shared.

Career Advising Student Advisory Board Tip of the Month
This advice is for all MS2 students and includes first-generation and BIPOC student lenses.
While on rotations, try to secure at least one person who can write a letter of recommendation (LOR) for your residency application. If an attending offers to write you a letter in the future, take them up on it! If they don’t offer one naturally, but you connect with them and do well on the rotation, ask if they feel they can write you a strong letter of recommendation. Away rotation applications often require letters, so stay in touch with these letter writers! You can learn more about LORs on the Career Advising letters of recommendation page, including info on how attendings store letters until you need them for away rotation or residency applications.
