Montana WWAMI Faculty Development Conference

Dr. Renee Chrichlow

Collaborating on cutting-edge strategies to advance clinical instruction is critical to shaping the next generation of Montana WWAMI physicians. Last month, our teaching faculty

members from across the Treasure State gathered in Anaconda recently to share innovative ideas on how to be more effective clinical educators. The Montana WWAMI Faculty Development Conference was held April 2 – 4, 2025, at the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort.

Jay S. Erickson, M.D.

Chief Medical Officer of Codman Square Health Center in Boston and Vice-chair at Boston University Medical School Department of Family Medicine, Dr. Renee Crichlow, captivated conference attendees with two impassioned talks. One was titled: “All of Us and the Necessity of Action” and “Putting Mission into Motion.” The other discussion focused on Skill-building for Long-term frameworks for Sustainable Change.

Serena Brewer, D.O.

The faculty retreat also included a session, conducted by Montana WWAMI Deans Dr. Serena Brewer and Dr. Jay Erickson, focusing on how to implement changes to clinical assessment by utilizing role play with seasoned TRUST preceptors and students. Other sessions highlighted TRUST outcomes since inception, and best practices.  The use of artificial intelligence in health care and medical education was another engaging topic.

Montana WWAMI students attended the conference, providing valuable opportunities for meaningful dialogue and feedback for the faculty.
