Infection Control Training is an annual UWSOM compliance requirement. All matriculated students, including students on a leave of absence and MSTP students in graduate school, are required to maintain compliance.

The quiz questions are embedded in the training modules. Please complete all modules and all attestations to successfully pass the requirement.
There are several modules:

You do not need to send Compliance anything. We can view your quiz results and PPE attestation online. You must score at least 80% on the quiz to pass the course. You can print your quiz results for your own records but do NOT upload it to CastleBranch or it will be rejected.
We will email you a certificate of completion which you can upload to your CastleBranch UW71 Compliance Tracker prior to Aug. 10, 2024. Certificates will be emailed weekly. Your renewal date in CastleBranch will then be set for Aug. 10, 2025.

If not completed by the Aug. 10 deadline , non-compliant students will receive a “Final Notice” email. Foundations and clinical deans will be copied on the email. Non-compliance disqualifies students from receiving the Compliance Award.

Please read if you require disability accommodations at clerkship locations
Note: We will be publishing this announcement every week through today, July 25.
Students who require clerkship location accommodations to manage their personal medical conditions/disabilities must apply for and be approved by the office prior to July 26, 2024. It can take 2-5 weeks, sometimes longer, to be approved for accommodation with DRS, so start the process as soon as possible (and no later than July 12). Please note that “maintaining health insurance coverage” does not qualify as a disability.
- If you are not currently registered with DRS: Fill out a “new student application” and submit your documentation via the DRS services website. After your application (including medical documentation) is submitted, you will be scheduled for an access planning meeting with a DRS access coordinator.
- If you are already receiving accommodation through DRS: Please schedule an appointment with Kowan Russell, uwdrs@uw.edu, if you want to discuss clerkship locations.
Additional information about requesting accommodation is outlined on the UW DRS “Getting Started” website.
Peer to Peer: Tip of the Month from Career Advising
Congratulations on finishing MS1! Update your Activity Tracker to track your involvement with various organizations. It is used for service awards and helps with organization when building your CV. Trust me, waiting until MS4 to input all your work can be exhausting.
If you can work it into your schedule this summer, try to do a few UWorld or AMBOSS questions for Step 1 – a little each day will help once dedicated comes around!
