Idaho WWAMI Educators Gather for Dynamic Development Conference

Dr. Vincent Raikhel led an inspiring session on reconnecting with one’s passion for teaching. He encouraged educators to reflect on what brings meaning to their work and to identify practices that sustain enthusiasm through the demands of patient care. Later in the morning, he described how busy clinicians can integrate impactful teaching into their practices without compromising patient care.

Dr. Moe Hagman engaged participants in a discussion about psychological safety and the powerful role it plays in clinical education. Drawing on real-world examples, Dr. Hagman illustrated how intentional communication, clear expectations, and a supportive team culture can transform a trainee’s experience and foster better learning. Dr. Hagman also presented frameworks to help educators identify struggles early, understand underlying issues, and provide tailored support.

Participants left the conference feeling energized, connected, and carrying fresh insights back into their teaching environments.

As Idaho continues to expand clinical training opportunities across the WWAMI region, events like the Eastern Idaho Educator Conference are vital for supporting educators, strengthening our community, and fueling the pipeline of future physicians.
