Wyoming WWAMI Strategic Plan Launches

From July 29 through August 1, 2025, Wyoming WWAMI brought together staff, faculty, block leads, mentors, and strategic partners for a multi-day planning retreat. The sessions focused on shaping the program’s future and ensuring its continued success in serving students, faculty, and communities across the state. Next steps for the Strategic Plan include forming working groups and launching enhanced communication and outreach strategies.

Three central themes guided the discussions:

Branding and Visibility – Elevating Wyoming WWAMI’s statewide identity and highlighting the program’s impact on physician workforce development through inspiring the next generation of future physicians to a career in the health professions as well as the engagement of key stakeholders to support the mission and vision of Wyoming WWAMI.

Student Success – Strengthening academic support, wellness resources, and professional development to help students excel from their first year through residency placement. Developing additional clinical training experiences within Wyoming is seen as imperative to recruit WWAMI graduates to return to Wyoming for practice.

Faculty and Staff Recruitment and Retention – Expanding opportunities to recruit new staff and faculty while building infrastructure and policies to support retention through ongoing professional development, personal wellness, and recognizing contributions to sustain engagement and excellence.
