Specialty & Residency Planning Survey for Match 2027
On Friday April 3rd, all MS3s and expanded MS4s will receive an email from medadv@quemailserver.com with the Subject Line “Response Needed: Specialty & Residency Planning Survey for Match 2027 – Due April 13.” The email contains a Qualtrics survey link and is a trustworthy email. As Qualtrics is a new resource for UWSOM, the email may say “from an untrusted sender,” but this is a trustworthy link for a required survey.
Career Advising Student Advisory Board Tip of the Month
This advice is for all MS3 students and includes first generation and BIPOC student lenses.
Many of you are finishing Patient Care Phase. After Step 2, you will do rotations in the field(s) you want to explore further before applying to residency. Now is the time to contact your specialty career advisor(s), if you are not already sure you are on their advising list. Get on the advisor’s radar for your top two specialties, so you are ready when the residency application cycle begins. Be prepared to provide them with your grades, Step 1 and 2 results, CV/activities and background, so they can best support you with application strategies based upon their assessment of your competitiveness and your goals.
If it has been a while, refresh yourself on the content in the Specialty Guides for the specialty/ies you are considering, especially paying attention to the info under “MS3/4 Residency Application Planning”.
