The Physician’s Oath and Hooding Ceremony is the acknowledgment by the School of Medicine of the completion of your medical training. At the ceremony, you will be invested with your doctoral hood and recite the Physician’s Oath. Attendance at the UWSOM Physician’s Oath & Hooding Ceremony is optional. All graduates (including those who are not planning to attend) must complete the registration form so that staff can plan accordingly. Please complete the following form before 12 PM PT on Friday, April 17: Registration form

The Alumni Career Support Network

As students prepare to graduate and begin residency, they enter a time of rapid growth and important career decisions. The Alumni Career Support Network can help connect recent graduates with UW School of Medicine alumni across specialties who are open to informal conversations about training, career paths, and navigating the early years of practice. It’s a simple way to hear firsthand perspectives from physicians who once stood where you are now.

The new Alumni Career Support Network provides peer support to help alumni explore their professional path, connect with others, and build community.

Our alumni volunteers can talk about the real moments that shape lives and careers in medicine, healthcare and research, such as:

  • Life and career transitions and decisions
  • Professional challenges and pivots
  • Common experiences such as early-career stress
  • Opportunities for networking
  • Finding colleagues with shared backgrounds or research interests
  • Connecting with alumni in a new city
  • Peer mentoring and support

You can filter your search to easily find exactly what you’re looking for. Our team hopes you will take advantage of this free alumni benefit!
