Career Advising Student Advisory Board Tip of the Month

This advice is for all MS3 students and includes first generation and BIPOC student lenses.

As you finish up your Patient Care Phase, now is the time to review Career Advising’s steps to prepare for residency application to set you up for success this application season. Preparing components of your application earlier in the year will help to avoid a lot of stress when you’re prioritizing important Explore & Focus rotations, in your chosen field.

Starting in late-April, the Career Advising team will start sending a bi-weekly Road to Residency Newsletter, which will walk you through important information about application requirements, deadlines, and tips for the upcoming residency application cycle.

If you’re still feeling uncertain about fourth-year schedule strategy, ask your career advisor to go over it with you! Career Advising recently recorded a short video with Dr. Maya Sardesai, Assistant Dean of Student Development, to address some of your questions about selecting clinical electives during E&F, and how to plan for away rotations (which are considered clinical electives). Watch this short video now and review the Elective Selection website for even more info.

Please note: Career Advising will not offer Office Hours or advising appointments during Match/SOAP week (3/16-3/20) to support MS4s at this critical time.
