AAMC Fourth Year Leadership Seminar: Nominations Open
Graduating fourth-year medical students must develop strong leadership skills alongside clinical expertise to successfully transition to residency. The AAMC’s RISE: Developing Future Leaders in Academic Medicine & Science program supports this growth through a two-and-a-half-day leadership seminar for fourth-year students.
Offered March 27–29, 2026, the program focuses on leading both the self and others through four core areas: Relationships, Influence, Self-awareness, and Effectiveness.
UWSOM-WWAMI can nominate up to two students to participate in the program, and UW/AAMC will cover the cost of participation. Students interested in being considered for nomination should email Andrea L. Walker (andrealb@uw.edu) with:
- A brief statement explaining why they should be nominated (100–500 characters)
- A list of leadership roles held (e.g., class or interest group officer, peer mentor, student advocate, community service, AAMC OSR, or other).
Deadline: January 2, 2026, at 12 PM PST.
