Prospective medical students explored their future in medicine during the Second Look Open House at the University of Idaho on April 11, 2025. Their goal was to gain a deeper understanding of what Idaho WWAMI offers. The applicants toured the campus and facilities and met with faculty, staff and other students to help solidify their choice of medical schools.
During a discussion panel with first-year students, applicants asked several questions. The panel helped to reassure prospective students that Idaho WWAMI provides a tremendous amount of support, allowing students to trust the process and feel comfortable knowing they would receive an excellent education and be well-prepared.
Applicants learned they don’t need to be in a large city such as Seattle to receive a high-quality education. The panel told applicants that faculty members know the names of all the students because it’s a smaller, close-knit group that receives a top-notch education. Applicants discovered the pace of medical school is intense, but manageable, and the faculty provides them with all the tools they need to succeed.
Family members also joined the tour to learn more about Idaho WWAMI and gain reassurance the applicants will be well-supported by faculty who are invested in the students’ futures.
