  • AAMC Year Two Questionnaire (Y2Q)
  • Call for Student Volunteers: Medical School Prerequisite Workgroup

AAMC Year Two Questionnaire (Y2Q)

You may have received an email from the AAMC inviting you to complete the Year Two Questionnaire (Y2Q). This national survey is optional. If you already completed it, thank you for sharing your experiences!

Please know that you will have an opportunity to share your experience for accreditation and continuous improvement of our program. In the spring, the School of Medicine’s Educational Quality Improvement (EQI) unit will invite second-year students to complete our own survey. It includes the AAMC questions along with additional SOM-specific questions, and it helps us measure the impact of changes in key areas of the medical school experience.

Look for more information from EQI in March. Our goal is an 80% response rate for the spring survey. We can do it with your help! Thank you for helping us continually improve medical education at UW!

Call for Student Volunteers: Medical School Prerequisite Workgroup

UWSOM is seeking two 2nd-year students and two 4th-year students to serve on the Medical School Prerequisite Workgroup. This group will revisit the courses and competency areas we require prior to entering UWSOM. We hope to include representatives from across our five-state region.

The commitment is expected to include:

  • One 1-hour meeting per month for 12 months
  • A small amount of work between meetings

Meeting minutes will be provided and can serve as a resource if you are unable to attend a session – we know you’re very busy!

If you are interested, please email Jenny Wright, MD, Associate Dean for Curriculum, at sonic@uw.edu with a brief statement about why you would like to participate.
