Become a SLAC Rep & Inform the Future of Service Learning Across WWAMI
Are you interested in contributing to the direction of UWSOM Service Learning projects and initiatives?
The UWSOM Service Learning department is accepting applications from students who are interested in representing their cohort on the Service Learning Advisory Committee (SLAC) – a group of SOM students, faculty, community members and staff, from across the five-state WWAMI region who meet monthly to discuss Service Learning policies and review and approve SOM Service Learning projects.
MS1 students from all WWAMI sites are encouraged to apply. Up to two students from each region may be selected to join the SLAC for a one-year term, with the option to continue for a second term.

Fall MS1 Pathways Virtual Info Session September 22
UWSOM pathways give you the opportunity to explore your interests more deeply, connect with mentors and like-minded peers, and gain experiences that complement your medical education. Whether you’re passionate about community engagement, rural health, advocacy, research, the humanities, or another area of medicine, pathways can help you build skills, relationships, and experiences that support your professional goals. Join UWSOM pathways administrators and faculty for an informational session and find the programs that align with your interests and career goals. Visit pathway-specific breakout rooms to learn about unique learning opportunities, hear what participation is like, review application processes and deadlines, and ask questions directly to pathway representatives. Whether you’re exploring your interests or ready to apply, this is a great place to start!
