Veteran’s Administration Clerkships: Required Consent Form
New policies require that all students complete the UWSOM Consent and Release of Information Form by Friday, September 5, 2025—a one-time compliance requirement. The School must verify gender, citizenship, and Selective Service status (for males) to the VA. You may decline consent and remain compliant, but without consent you cannot rotate at a VA facility. Career Advising Student Advisory Board Tip of the Month
This advice is for all students and includes first-generation and BIPOC student lenses.
Your #1 priority right now is to adjust to medical school, everything else comes second. Develop a relationship with your College Faculty/Mentor, as over time they will be able to help you begin exploring your career questions and goals. If you have time, you can read the Explore Your Career section of Career Advising’s webpage, to understand the career and specialty exploration process.
