Dr. Ralph Tayyar is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Allergy & Infectious Diseases at the University of Washington, where he is involved in clinical care, clinical research, medical education, and antimicrobial stewardship. He completed his fellowship training in Infectious Diseases and Immunocompromised Infectious Diseases at Stanford University School of Medicine. He earned his M.D. from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Main Line Health Lankenau Medical Center in Philadelphia. Originally from Marjeyoun, Lebanon, Dr. Tayyar moved to the United States in 2017 for residency training. His work focuses on infections in immunocompromised patients, and he is especially interested in improving care through antimicrobial stewardship. He also really enjoys mentoring and working closely with medical students, residents, and fellows.
Outside of work, he enjoys volunteering in homeless shelters, traveling, hiking, and trying new restaurants — often leaving behind a trail of honest Google reviews.
