Dr. Sarah Hofman DeYoung is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Pediatric Pulmonary at Seattle Children’s Hospital. She earned her M.D. from the University of Washington, thereafter completing a pediatrics residency and pediatric pulmonary fellowship at Seattle Children’s. Originally born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the allure of the Pediatric Northwest was far too strong. Her clinical interests center on complex congenital conditions including airway anomalies, interventional bronchoscopy, congenital diaphragm hernia, and tracheostomy dependence. She loves doing something different every day which drew her to the field of pulmonary — you will find her in the OR, clinic, ICUs, wards, or skilled nursing facility, in addition to her roles as RT medical director or medical education with trainees. She is passionate about climate action and the interface with our roles as physicians.
In her spare time, she loves spending time with her 3 boys (born as an MS3, R3, and fellow!), is an avid pescatarian, plays cello, enjoys book club, attempts DIY projects, and bikes all around town as her primary mode of transportation.
