It’s (Almost) Time for Explore & Focus (E&F) Preferencing!
Are you an MS3 student entering the E&F phase in Spring or Summer 2027? If so, Phase 2 EVOS Preferencing for non-permission E&F courses is coming soon!
EVOS is an automated process that simultaneously considers your clerkship preferences, your classmates’ clerkship preferences, and site availability to create the best E&F schedules for everyone.
- Preferencing opens: Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 12:00 PM/Noon Pacific
- Preferencing closes: Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 4:00 PM Pacific
Note: This is not first-come, first-served course selection. It does not matter when you enter and submit your preferences as long as you do so within the timeframe above.
Prepare now by reviewing the E&F Scheduling FAQ and watching the short EVOS Preferencing video. You can find much more information under the Explore & Focus Scheduling tab on the Registration & Records website.
Look for an email in your inbox with more details coming soon.
Clinical Competency Coaching Program
The UW School of Medicine is thrilled to announce the launch of its coaching program, a long-awaited milestone in the move toward competency-based education.
Every student in the Patient Care phase will be paired with a trained faculty coach and meet every 6 months. Coaches help students make sense of their feedback, set goals and plan next steps. These conversations are confidential, supportive and focused on each student’s own goals.
The School is proud to bring this program to life and looks forward to seeing the difference it makes for students and their future patients.
