AMSA Mock ER – Volunteers Needed! (Seattle) (Ongoing Involvement, Event 12/5/26)

The University of Washington American Medical Student Association’s (AMSA) pre-medical chapter is currently planning the semi-annual flagship event, Mock ER, to introduce University of Washington undergraduates to medical cases and simulate an emergency room setting. Mock ER is a fun event where teams of students triage, diagnose, and treat patients in a simulated environment. The planning process includes our director board and several student volunteers. Mock ER will be on Dec 5th from 2-5 PM and the planning process will be from now until December. Our team will meet weekly in-person, but your participation is flexible. We are seeking 2-3 medical students to help our team review medical cases and facilitate the event.

Your role includes:

  • Reviewing medical cases our team writes to ensure we are being realistic/reasonable
  • Answer medical-related participant questions and give hints in solving cases during the event
  • Briefly walking through how the case would be evaluated in reality in the ER at the end of the event

Further details for the event and a sample case from a previous Mock ER can be found below. Please reach out to Robin Wang (zwang352@uw.edu) with questions.
