Happening Today: Explore & Focus Phase Curriculum & Career Planning Q&A Session
Thursday, September 10, from 5-6 PM PST. The session will be recorded and sent to the class afterwards.
We know students have lots of questions about the Explore & Focus Phase curriculum & career planning process. UWSOM Curriculum and Career Advising Teams are coming together to address some of the common questions students have about this process. Please join us and bring your questions!
Session will include a 20 minute presentation, followed by student Q&A. We will address:
- An overview of the E&F Phase curriculum
- What to expect from Career Advising this fall and how to begin the career planning process in preparation of E&F Phase scheduling
- Overview of the Curriculum and Career Advising tools and resources you will use in the E&F Phase planning process
- Discuss elective advising and resources
- Address frequently asked questions and areas where students make common mistakes

Are you ready to take E&F courses in Spring 2027 or Summer 2027?
Phase 1 of E&F scheduling will open on Monday, September 14, 2026.
In Phase 1, you’ll request and receive approval from departments to take permission-only courses. For information about permission-only courses – including how to identify them, how to request them, and how to get them on your schedule – review the permission-only courses website.
