Applications Open: NBME’s Fee Assistance Program for USMLE
As a part of NBME’s ongoing effort to assist medical students on their path to licensure, they have opened the second application cycle for the 2026 Fee Assistance program. Medical students with demonstrated financial need are encouraged to apply for an award to help cover the registration cost of the United States Medical Licensing Examination® (USMLE®).
Applications for this cycle of NBME’s Fee Assistance program are open until August 23, 2026 (for tests taken January 1-August 23, 2026). The next cycle will open November 23, 2026. You can learn more about the program, including criteria for eligible students, on the NBME website.
