From Montana to Utah, fourth-year Montana WWAMI student Kaylee Stein will soon head into pediatrics after matching at the University of Utah.
Originally from Eureka, Kaylee was drawn to pediatrics because of its focus on prevention, healthy development, and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with children and their families. She values the chance to partner closely with families, support healthy behaviors early in life, and help shape long-term health outcomes.
Kaylee said the TRUST program was instrumental in her journey to becoming a physician. Through her longitudinal experience in Hamilton, she built meaningful relationships with preceptors and families that helped shape the kind of physician she hopes to be. That deep connection to community-centered care continues to guide her path forward.
Looking ahead, Kaylee hopes to return to Montana after residency. With strong ties to both Hamilton and her hometown of Eureka, she would be honored to one day care for families in the communities that helped raise and inspire her. Outside of medicine, Kaylee enjoys hiking and backpacking, fly fishing, snowboarding, and visiting zoos with her family.
