Important timeline for UW Official Documentation

03/20/2026: Match Day

05/11 – 05/21/2026: Transition to Residency Course

05/22/2026: Physician’s Oath and Hooding Ceremony
Note: This is not the official graduation date. Attending this ceremony does not mean you have officially graduated.

06/12/2026: Official Graduation Date
Note: This is the date you are awarded the MD degree, and is the date on your diploma.

06/17/2026: First day that Spring grades can be posted to transcripts*

06/18 – 07/16/2026: SOM Registration & Records audits ALL Spring graduate transcripts for accuracy, then requests that UW Main Campus post the MD degree on transcripts as audits are finalized. UW Main Campus Registrar Office then posts degrees to transcripts.

JULY – OCT. 2026: Graduation and Academic Records Office (not SOM/School of Medicine) mails diploma once degrees are posted*

* These dates are set by UW Main Campus. SOM/School of Medicine has no ability to adjust them.
