Family Medicine Mentorship Program (All Years & Sites) (Priority Deadline 10/16/26)

Interested in exploring family medicine? The Family Medicine Mentorship Program pairs medical students with family physicians who share their interests and can provide guidance on medical school, residency, career paths, and life as a family physician.

As a mentee, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Ask questions about family medicine as a specialty
  • Learn about your mentor’s career journey
  • Receive advice and support as you navigate medical school and residency planning
  • Potentially participate in clinical shadowing opportunities (when available)

To be considered for priority matching, please complete the interest survey by Friday, October 16, 2026: Mentee interest survey

Mentor-mentee matches will be introduced in early November. We recommend meeting about once per month, though you and your mentor can determine a schedule that works best for both of you.

If you have questions about the program, please contact Alisse Cassell in Medical Student Education, Department of Family Medicine, at alisse@uw.edu.
