MedStAR 2027 applications are open! All UWSOM MS1 students across WWAMI are eligible to apply for the NIH-funded Medical Student Addiction Research (MedStAR) Program. The program offers research and clinical mentorship in Addiction Medicine and can fulfill the Independent Investigative Inquiry (III) requirement. Students receive ongoing mentorship and opportunities to present and publish their research. Learn more in the MedSTAR brochure.
Application deadline: 5 PM PST on October 1, 2026. Selected students will be notified by the end of October. Research projects focus on health services, epidemiology and clinical research.
