Explore and Focus (E&F) Scheduling for Clinical Year 2027-28
Are you ready to take E&F courses in Spring 2027 or Summer 2027? SOM Registration will host an E&F Scheduling Webinar on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 6:00 PM PST.
In addition to a brief overview of the course requirements for the E&F phase, we’ll talk about:
- The three phases of E&F scheduling:
- Phase 1: Permission-only courses
- Phase 2: Courses not requiring permission (aka EVOS)
- Phase 3: Open scheduling (aka Drop/Add)
- The timeline for each phase
- How to navigate each phase (who to ask/what to do/how to do it)
- Where to go for advice
Phase 1 will open on Monday, September 14, 2026, and we want to make sure you know what to do!

Join the AHEC Scholars Program!
AHEC Scholars is a two-year interprofessional program through the Office of Rural Programs where you will learn alongside students from other disciplines and develop team-based skills! Attend eight evening Zoom classes with an interdisciplinary cohort of health professions students. Some Learning topics include – working with interpreters, AI in healthcare, Advocacy and Policy work, Relational Leadership and more!

Become an HCOP Ambassador
Med students are invited to apply to become Ambassadors for the Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP). In addition to mentoring undergraduates interested in health careers, ambassadors will also receive access to service learning and educational opportunities related to rural and underserved care as well as networking opportunities. Ambassadors also receive a stipend for their participation.
The priority application deadline is September 13. Check out the HCOP website for more information.
