Students who are required to complete a drug test for their application for an away rotation (non-UW) through the Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO) have the option of completing a drug test through the SOM’s vendor, HireRight. The SOM will receive the results from this drug test. The SOM can verify drug testing compliance on VSLO only if the drug test is done through the SOM. The SOM cannot verify results unless the drug test is completed through the HireRight portal below.

How to access your Hireright drug test results:
- If you received an email from HireRight with an invite to complete the background check forms, you can use the link in that email to log in to view the completed report. Your login will remain active for 180 days after the request is completed.
- You can also complete this form to request a copy of the results: Request a Copy of My Background Report or Testing Results.
Process for positive results for prescribed medications
If there is a positive result for a prescribed medication/s, a HireRight “Medical Review Officer” (MRO) will contact student to ask for documentation of their prescription. Once the review is completed, the results will be reported as negative and the UWSOM will not have any information about the student’s medication/s.
Students will have three days to respond to the MRO. If the MRO does not hear from the student within three days, HireRight will report the positive result to the school. If you do not hear from the MRO within 3 days, please call them directly at 800.404.0016.
Refunds
Drug screen orders placed through HireRight are non-refundable.
