Student Advisory Board (SAB) members provide feedback to enhance the career advising experience for all students. Members serve as liaisons to their cohorts on career planning initiatives.

Join the Career Advising Student Advisory Board!

Career Advising invites MS1s to join the Student Advisory Board and help enhance the career advising experience for all UWSOM students. As an SAB member, you’ll serve as a liaison for your class, sharing feedback and ideas on career planning initiatives.

Apply Now: Applications close October 5, 2025. Notifications will be sent by October 15, 2025 and the Fall SAB meeting will be held October 23, 7:00–8:30 pm MST.

About the SAB:

• 20–25 members total, including MS1s–MS4s from all six WWAMI sites
• This year’s focus: project-based work supporting new Career Advising resources

Potential projects include:

• Launching an online “roadmap for choosing a medical specialty,” inspired by this version from the Stanford School of Medicine
• Helping develop a First-Generation speaker series in partnership with Student Affairs
• Creating a new quarterly MS3 Career Advising newsletter
• Serving as Student & Communications liaison to promote Career Advising events and services via Microsoft Teams
