New anatomy faculty joins Spokane team

Published on

Megan Lewis, Ph.D., has recently joined the Spokane Foundations site teaching anatomy as a Lecturer for the Anatomy & Embryology Thread at UWSOM. She primarily teaches first- and second-year medical students in the WWAMI program, as well as dental students in the Regional Initiatives in Dental Education (RIDE) program.

She received her Ph.D. in Neuroscience and master’s in Medical Science from the University of Calgary.

Her research there was based on investigating how inflammation during early life may alter neural and renal development. Her postdoctoral experience is centered around optimizing evidence-based teaching strategies for learning anatomy through prepared dissections.

When she is not in the anatomy lab, she enjoys spending her time climbing, skiing, and biking.
