Joshua Jauregui, M.D., the new UWSOM Assistant Dean for Clinical Curriculum, is an emergency physician and clinician scholar dedicated to the excellence in, and advancement of, whole person care. He cares for patients in both the University of Washington Montlake and Harborview Medical Center emergency departments.

“As the new assistant dean for clinical curriculum, I am looking forward to listening to, supporting and partnering with all stakeholders as we move towards a more liberated education model for the health of our populations,” he said.

Dr. Jauregui said his initial focus will be on innovation in assessment and in building community within and across units.

Dr. Jauregui came to the University of Washington in 2013 after completing his emergency medicine residency at Brown University and earning his M.D. from Loma Linda University in 2009. He graduated from a Medical Education Research fellowship here at UW in 2015 and is completing his master’s in Health Professions Education at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. In his free time, he enjoys competing in half-marathons, long backpacking trips and the fictional narrative.
