Tara Davidson, M.D., a 2019 graduate of UWSOM, has received the Outstanding Achievement Award for the Internal Medicine Training Program of the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education.

The award is presented to four of the 52 members of the graduating internal medicine class each year and is based on clinical competency, professionalism, scholarly activity and contributions to the residency program.

The clinic specifically asked that faculty be notified of the award ” since it is clear that Dr. Davidson’s outstanding performance is a direct reflection of her outstanding undergraduate medical education at your institution.”

Dr. Davidson has published seven articles, two as a first author. The award letter continues, “her skills are not just as a researcher, but also as a clinician and educator. Those who have worked with her have noted that she has an impressive clinical maturity, possessing an impressive bedside manner, a tremendous work ethic and the highest level of empathy, is a masterful presenter, ·creates a safe learning space and is among the top 1 percent of senior residents one faculty had worked with.

Dr. Davidson began a fellowship in hematology/oncology at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas this summer.
