Documentation of annual flu vaccination is due Oct. 1, 2023

Published on

All medical students: documentation of your annual 2023-2024 flu vaccine is due in your CastleBranch account by Oct. 1, 2023, according to UW’s Health Sciences Immunization Program (HSIP). It is recommended that you upload your document at least 3 days prior to the 10/1/22 deadline to ensure the submission is reviewed and approved in your account by 10/1/22.

There are many places to find flu vaccine:
– Pharmacies such as Costco, CVS, Fred Meyer, QFC, Rite Aid, Safeway, Walgreens, Walmart, etc.
– A campus health clinic. In Seattle, that’s Hall Health on the UW Seattle campus; call (206) 685-1011 to schedule. Identify yourself as an HSIP-participating student.
– Urgent Care/Walk-in Clinics (Do an internet search, “Urgent Care Clinics/Walk-in Clinics near me”).
– Use the CDC’s Vaccine Finder to find a flu shot provider near you.

Primary care provider offices may not have flu vaccines in stock until late September or early October. If that is true of yours, please use one of the alternatives to get your flu vaccine by the due date. Most insurance types are accepted at local pharmacies, Hall Health, and urgent care clinics– check when scheduling.

If you have questions, please contact HSIP at myshots@uw.edu.
