Apply to RUOP

The RUOP Summer 2027 application opens December 1st, 2026 and closes January 4th, 2027 (at 11:59PM Pacific).

There is no benefit to submitting an application early, and applications are not reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. What matters most is the thoroughness and detail of your responses. Our Regional Placement Coordinators rely heavily on the information you provide to identify sites that may be a good fit for you. The more specific and complete your answers, the better equipped we are to consider your preferences.

Submitting a placement preference does not guarantee that placement. Coordinators do their best to take your preferences into account, but final site assignments depend on a range of factors. No specific placement, including your top choice, can be guaranteed.

TRUST students must also complete an application, but since we know where you will be doing RUOP, the application is abridged.

No exceptions are made for late applications. Please plan accordingly.

IMPORTANT: The Office of Rural Programs does not have the ability to edit responses once submitted. We STRONGLY recommend selecting ‘Save my response to edit’ on the confirmation screen before closing the window. This will allow you to return and make edits if needed. If you do not save your response after submitting, you may need to complete a new application for any future changes.
