Packing List

TRUST Scholars will be staying in the Good Earth Lodge cabins which have bunk beds and shared restrooms. The camp will provide linens (bedding) & bath towels. Please pack the following:

  • Toiletries
  • Water bottle
  • Bug repellent
  • Sunscreen
  • Flashlight
  • Comfortable shoes for uneven terrain
  • Earplugs (if needed when sleeping in communal quarters)
  • Laptop/tablet (*optional – in case you’d like to have it to take notes at the retreat or would like to get other coursework/work done while at the retreat in your spare time)
    • FYI – Verizon wireless reception is spotty and there is no AT&T cell reception at the resort. There is wi-fi available.

WWAMI Clinical Deans and invited guests will be joining us, though the expected attire is casual. There will be a mix of indoor and outdoor activities.

There will be unscheduled time for you to make use of the various activities at the retreat center. Please visit the Camp Lutherhaven website to check out the various amenities available. .

All guests will be required to fill out a Program Participant Activity & Liability Release Form which we will have available at sign in/arrival.

Please know that personal snacks/food are not allowed in the lodging cabins unless securely enclosed (mice-proof). In addition, Camp Lutherhaven is smoke-free; smoking is not permitted on-site. Please be advised that alcohol is only allowed in our meeting space and in the guest rooms. It is not allowed in the dining hall nor on the beach (or anywhere outside). There may be other groups in attendance at the Camp while we are there, and we would like to be respectful of other guests.

Per Camp Lutherhaven’s regulations, only ADA service animals are allowed onsite.

Travel Reimbursement & Driving Directions

The Office of Rural Programs will be processing travel mileage reimbursements for you to travel from your Foundation sites to the Retreat Center.

Here’s a link to the Google map from Coeur d’Alene – anyone driving from east or west of CDA can follow these directions, including from the Spokane airport. Some of the turns are not quite obvious, though there are yellow and green Lutherhaven signs once you turn off of Hwy 95. For example, where it says, “slight right onto W Valhalla Road,” that’s an actual turn off of Kidd Island Road, not just a bend in the road. Same with the turn from W Valhalla Road to W Lutherhaven Road. If possible, please plan to arrive during the day, as these are dark country roads and navigation may be a little more challenging at night.

Check-in for the Retreat begins at 1:00PM with our first activity beginning at 2:00PM. Lunch will not be served on 8/20 so please plan accordingly during your travel. Our group be utilizing the Retreat Center Lodge, the Good Earth Lodge, and the Chapel. A site map can be found HERE

What to Expect for Food

If you previously submitted a food allergy, sensitivity, or diet preference, we have passed that information on to Camp Lutherhaven. All meals will be served buffet style, allowing guests to self-select the items that are more appealing/appropriate for them. Coffee, tea, and snacks will be available during the Retreat sessions and there are camp stores which sell additional snacks and beverages.
