Welcome, MS1s!
Financial aid updates: Don’t worry about tuition due July 4 and summer aid disbursement
Here is a message from Diane Noecker, director, UW School of Medicine Financial Aid:
We will be sending a list of all the E24 students to the UW Student Fiscal Services office letting them know your financial aid will not be disbursed by the tuition due date. You will not be charged a late payment. For students that applied for summer aid, accepted their aid and have no holds, the aid will be released on July 12. It will go towards tuition first and the rest will be direct deposited and should be in your account by July 16.
We still are working on getting summer aid added to everyone’s award. We will get back to that in the next few days.
If you need money right now, you can apply online for a UW short-term loan of up to $3,200. When your summer aid releases it will repay the loan as well as your tuition charge. They will add a $30 fee. If you let us know that you took out the loan, we will ask them to waive the fee.
See you all in a couple of weeks!
Have a fantastic week!
